We wish you a long and successful career. The School of Rehabilitation Science would like to congratulate three new doctorates in rehabilitation sciences. Victoria Duda for her master thesis in microbiology entitled ” Measuring Mismatch Negativity Responses to Gaps in Noise for a Better Understanding of Tinnitus ” under the supervision of two professors of the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Dr.
Vivianne Grandpierre for her thesis entitled ” Barriers and Facilitators to Cultural Competence in Early Hearing Loss Services” under the supervision of two professors of the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Dr. Roanne Thomas from the School of Rehabilitation Sciences. Two graduating Master’s students in Speech-Language Pathology from the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Caroline Auclair and Marie-Ange Lataille, were awarded the Tavistock Trust for Aphasia Student Prize. 2018 Excellence in Education Prizes are outstanding in the classroom, in the lab and in the field. Judy King, recipient of the 2017-2018 Excellence in Education Prize. Heather Flowers will showcase the Swallowing and Speech Lab for participants at the Canadian Partnership for Stroke Recovery’s SPiN forum. She will demonstrated personalized swallowing and speech profiling using surace EMG biofeedback for swallowing and accoustic evaluation of voice and speech.
The demonstration will provide a better appreciation of potential biofeedback methods available for interventions in stroke patients. Boston University School of Medicine, in affiliation with Boston Medical Center, is a recognized leader in research and graduate education in the biomedical sciences.
